In Richard Bean's English version of Carlo Goldoni's classic Italian comedy The Servant of Two Masters, sex, food and money are high on the agenda. Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect ?6,000 from his fiancee's dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who's been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Holed up at The Cricketers' Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.

If you are in the mood for a good old fashioned farse, don't miss this show. What you should miss however, unless your budget is tight, are seats in the Upper Balcony! Seats isn't quite the right word. Try a wooden plank with arms narrowing dividing the seats and tilted to keep you leaning forward - so as not to miss a word. But you do see down well and hear OK. So we missed nothing at a fraction of the cost.
Unexpected interaction with the audience with some fun ad hoc comedy depending on responses. Worth seeing.
